History
Ardeevin House is listed on the Record of Protected Structures which denotes it as a building of special architectural and historical importance. Built by Arthur Newburgh, a former Captain within the British Army of the Life Guards, in c.1860 on the site of an earlier house, known as ‘Ivy Cottage’. When rebuilt, Arthur Newburgh renamed it as ‘Beach Cottage’. The Newburgh family sold the property to Thomas Kelleher in c.1927 and it was they who renamed it ‘Ardeevin House’.
